We are committed to strengthening modern leaders for Aotearoa, New Zealand, and we consider that this necessarily includes an awareness and competency about Te Ao Māori.

Weave® Leadership programmes pursue excellence and are based on human-centred principles where participants grow through continuous learning and development, powerful peer-to-peer interaction, and shared experiences.

As part of a review of our brand, we sought assistance from Andrew Baker of Tika Learning to help us reflect our values through a Te ao Māori lens. 

Te kai a te rangatira is the first part of a whakatauāki (proverb) from the Rev. Manuhuia Bennett ONZ CMG. 


Te kai a te rangatira, he kōrero - The food of chiefs/leaders is communication.

Te tohu o te rangatira, he manaaki - The sign of a chief/leader is how they look after others.

Te mahi a te rangatira, he whakatira it e iwi - The work of a chief/leader is to WEAVE the people together. 

 

This ancient wisdom resonates with Weave’s philosophy on leadership.
